Welcome to adelaide

We are arrived in adelaide after a short flight with qantas airline.
We found our hostel which looks pretty good, or even much better than our hostel in melbourne where i really couldn't sleep because our room was next to the kitchen and many people pass their whole life with celebrating parties in this silly kitchen. So i am really thankful we are here and i hope I'll have a better night (travelling is exhausting!)

Great ocean tour

Breathtaking. Simply breathtaking. I think I can't describe what we have seen yesterday.

After our landing in melbourne we decided spontaniously to book a day trip to the great ocean road. Just to explain what is the fascinating thing of this road: it is next to route 66 the most famous road of the world. The pathway is extended on 250 km, all way dow on the West coast of the ocean. Many curves through beautiful cliffs.
We joined a nice bus guide who drove with us all the way down to the end of the great ocean road. We did a lot of stops to get some impressive sights and to feel the sand under our shoes.
Moreover we saw two wales swimming not too far away from the coast, a koala and some funny birds sitting down on your hands.
Thirty minutes before sunset we arrived at the twelve apostels, a famous rock formation symbolising the fellows of jesus christ.
We just had an amazing day and we have seen some of the greatest results of creation.

Nature's Best

Without many sleep (false firealarm) we went with a guided tour to the blue mountains. They aren't high but there are many deep valleys. We got the possibility to see waterfalls, amazing landscapes and impressive rocks, by example the three sisters formation. Moreover we tried out the steepest cableway of the world, a crazy experience. Then we walked through the rainforest where we searched the wellknown lyrebird who is able to imitate all sounds he has heard. Unfortunally we didn't see him, maybe it was too cold for him (and for us).
We got back with a ferry which was very nice because the harbour bridge and the opera house were lightened. So Then we said goodbye to jason, our guide, who called us "my family". We had a great day with a lot of nice impressions, nice people and much fun.
So it was our last day in sydney. I liked this city because it is a natural city at the border of the ocean and it everywhere you can feel a nice atmosphere.
So far so good!

Just some things about australia

ŮStanding at the crossroad and looking irritated=someone asks you if you are lost amd helps you

Paying in modern supermarket is too complicated for normal humans but you don't have to pack up your stuff, it's done automatically

Specialists for frogs = frogolocists

Do you know why kangoroos are called kangoroos? Well, when the white came into australia and saw jumping animals he shouted:what the hell is this?
An aborigine answered: cangoroo! Which means "I don't understand you"
Poor cangoroo :)

Another interesting aboriginal word: koala means "no drinking". Koalas don't need to drink and that is why they can survive also long periods of drought.

Sydney

After landing our first job was to get as soon as possible to our hostel. Well, we had already a long time to fill in all these forms at the airport. Luckily we could enter to australia :)
We met a kind young woman from denmark who accompagnied us with the train to the central station of sydney. There we had to find our metro to the hostel which wasn't easy at all because there were a lot of diversions at station. But finally we got there and passed a calm night with a little sleep.
So we were ready to to some sightseeing im sydney. It's a lovely city with lot if nature and parks, a great skyline and a lovely atmosphere. In the afternoon wr booked a tour with a bus, called hop on hop off. We saw big parts of the city, many cathedrals and beatiful beaches.
Now we are so tired that we catch some sleep before tomorrow we'll see the blue mountains.
Write some comments :)

Flight

Well we are Lucky having survived such a long flight. But in fact: the a-380 is amazing, IT is an adventure flying with it. I just had my problems with the meals, I pretend I have to get used to it. Also sleeping was kind of difficult because after such a long time every position is uncomfortable.
Happy we have securely landed!

Countdown!

I had a lovely weekend with my family. I enjoyed playing with the little kids, having fun and doing nonsense with my sisters. I pretend I haven't absolutely realized that I'm flying away tomorrow but maybe I will when I'm sitting in the airplane...
My friends and family have made a very nice goodbye-day with so many lovely words and symbols so as I love to go I will like to return!
Just some impressions:

My last days in switzerland

Dear friends and family,
In a few days we will depart. I can't wait arriving in Sydney.
At the moment I'm busy with packing my few things and my travelling documents. I only can take with me 23 kilos!
Moreover I'm very happy that yesterday I had the possibility to celebrate my birthday and saying goodbye to all my friends. I had a beautiful day!
Today I went for the last time to my physiotherapist and even though we aren't totally satisfied he put the last dry needle into my muscle, smiled at me and said: now you're ready for life! I really hope I am :-)

Only Two More Weeks!

It's so exciting! Only two more weeks in Switzerland! Time is flying away :)
I can't wait being on the other side of the world, first in Australia, then in New Zealand. Many people ask me, if I felt already nervous. Of course I am, but in a positive sense. During the holiday I had a lot of time to enjoy my family and my friends from the YMCA. Moreover I'm looking forward to having my birthday party on 19th August which is in the meantime my "Goodbye"-Day.

I'm very happy that I could sing a last time a solo part from Bach's Mass in B-Minor for the J. S. Bach Foundation. It was a nice Goodbye to the classical music :)

Moreover I said goodbye to the children of our YMCA, and they have prepared a very nice present for me (picture)

At the moment I'm very busy with the preparations. Booking the hostels for our stay in Australia, thinking of which things I have to pack, what I have to buy and so on.
